Meet John, our Front-End Software Engineer

Thanks to John working closely with our designer, he has helped make our app sleek and easy to use. John has already been with us for over a year, and we are excited to have him take the lead on building our native mobile app this year!

What did you get your degree in and where?

I have a B.S. in Economics with a minor in Computer Science from Colorado School of Mines.

What is your favorite ‘fun food’?

 New York cheesecake.

At which store would you most likely max out your credit card?

The Apple Store or Sweetwater Music

What is it that drives you to be successful?

I love learning new things and being constantly challenged. Nothing worth doing comes easy and I think building impactful software definitely falls under that category.

What are you most passionate about?

Transforming ideas and concepts into something you can actually feel, see, hear, etc. Whether it's web and mobile apps or music, I love creating something from scratch and the feeling of sharing something original with the world.

Who inspires you?

Those that can find valuable lessons in moments of failure.

What made you want to work for Macrostax?

I saw Macrostax as a great opportunity to join a small development team and immediately make an impact on a product with an impressive user base. Although our team is small, I believed in the direction the company was heading and more importantly the people behind all of the hard work.

What style of workouts do you gravitate towards?

I grew up playing baseball and soccer, so my workouts have a lot of variety. I typically enjoy free weights, running, rowing, and spinning. Maybe one day I'll give CrossFit a shot! ;)

Outside of working out and counting macros what are a few things that Macrostaxers would find you doing in your free time?

Spending time with my girlfriend, playing guitar, going to baseball games, and watching Netflix.

Can you play any instruments?

What is one of your staple foods that you couldn’t live without?

All things chicken.

What are three things still left on your bucket list?

Enjoy a tasting menu at a multi Michelin-star restaurant, see a Broadway show, own an electric vehicle.
