Meet the COO of Macrostax, Blake

Macrostax’s team was taken to the next level when Blake joined with a boatload of experience leading, managing, and growing small startups. Our founder, Lindsey, had always dreamed of finding a partner with complementary skills to help hit the ambitious milestones we have set. She discovered that in Blake.

How long have you been counting macros?

Since July when I started with Macrostax, although I would say I have been "loosely counting macros".

What did you get your degree in and where?

I have a B.S. with Honors in Computer Engineering from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas.

What is your favorite “fun food” that you will “make fit”?

I like to enjoy a glass of scotch or a craft cocktail on the weekends so I always make sure I can fit one into my day.

At which store would you most likely max out your credit card?

At REI, I love outdoor adventuring and could find tons of gadgets and gear to spend money on.

What is it that drives you to be successful?

I love helping people realize their full potential. Playing a meaningful role, as part of a high performing team, that is on a compelling mission is my definition of success.

What are you most passionate about?

I love solving problems and building things, whether it is an amazing product, a world-class company, or even a piece of woodwork, I like to know that I helped build something lasting.

Who inspires you?

I am inspired by founders that have founded companies that have made a dent in the world, a few examples include Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, and Jeff Bezos.

What made you want to work for Macrostax?

I love working on a product that has such a profound impact on our customer's wellbeing.

What style of workouts do you gravitate towards?

I have always been a runner so running tends to be my default workout when I want to burn some calories or clear my head.

Outside of working out and counting macros what are a few things that Macrostaxers would find you doing in your free time?

Spending time outdoors, in the summer that means camping or backpacking with the family, mountain biking, or hiking. In the winter it usually means downhill skiing or snow-shoeing.

Can you play any instruments?

I play a little bit of both piano and guitar. I am not great at either, but I enjoy playing when I can find the time.

What is one of your staple foods that you couldn’t live without?

Eggs, I have two eggs along with some egg whites almost every morning, there is no way I would get enough protein in my day without eggs.

What are three things still left on your bucket list?

1. Thru-hike the Appalachian Trail

2. Attend an English Premier League football (soccer) match

3. Drive the entire length of the Pacific Coast Highway
